China's consumer inflation rose in December, according to official figures released on Thursday.
The consumer price index hit 1.8% on-year, up from 1.6% in November, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said.
Inflation for the whole of 2022 rose by an average of 2%, as prices soared on the back of a spike in energy and food costs.
The producer price index, which measures the cost of goods leaving factories, also contracted in December for the third consecutive month.
Also, amid the COVID-19 campaign in the country, economic activity has struggled to recover as the virus spread rapidly.
