Chris Rock's Mum Finally Speaks On Will Smith Slapping Her Son

Rosalie Rock, the mother of comedian Chris Rock, has finally addressed the Oscars slap incident involving actor Will Smith.

Speaking with South Carolina news station WIS-TV, the parent stated that when the King Richard star slapped her son, he slapped all of them in the family.

"When Will slapped Chris, he slapped all of us", Rosalie stated candidly. "But he really slapped me. Because when you hurt my child, you hurt me.”

The 77-year-old South Carolina native admitted that just like most people, she assumed that the slap was staged. 

She disclosed that it was until Smith started spewing obscenities from his mouth that it dawned on her that everything was for real.

When asked what she would like to say to Will Smith after what he did to her son, Rosalie said, "I have no idea what I would say other than, ‘What in the world were you thinking? Because you did a slap, but so many things could have happened from that.

"Chris could have stepped back and fallen, and you really could have gotten taken out in handcuffs. So, you didn’t think."
