Nottingham Forest striker Chris Wood stole the show as they shocked Newcastle United in front of their home fans in the Premier League.

In a frenetic game at St. James Park Newcastle United took the lead as star forward Alexander Isak was brought down in the box.

The Swede international took responsibility for converting from the spot to make it 1-0 to his side at home. Isak scored his Penalty in the 23rd minute of the match.

However, it was a game of fortune for the visitors as they rallied back from a goal down to win the Boxing Day Contest.

Chris Wood equalized for Nottingham Forest at the stroke of half-time (45+1 minute) to make it 1-1 following an assist from former Manchester United striker Anthony Elanga.

It finished 1-1 at the break. After the restart, Chris Wood gave the away side the lead to make it 1-2 courtesy of an assist from Anthony Elanga yet again in the 53rd minute of the game.

Then at the hour mark Chris Wood completed his hat-trick to make it 1-3 in favour of Nottingham Forest.

Wood's hat-trick was assisted by Brazil defender Murillo Santiago as Eddie Howe's Newcastle United side surprisingly lost 1-3 to Forest at St.James Park.
