Chrisland: Lagos Government Confirms Autopsy Result, Orders

Following the release of the autopsy result of Whitney Adeniran, the government of Lagos State has confirmed the electrocution of the late student of Chrisland Schools in Opebi, Ikeja.

Chrisland schools had reported that the student slumped and passed away during the school's inter-house sports competition which took place at the Agege Stadium.

The school had portrayed 12-year-old Whitney as a sickly child, but this was countered by the late student's parent who said she was in good health on the morning the sad event occurred.

The government of Lagos State ordered the closure of the school to ensure a smooth investigation of the case.

AllNews Nigeria earlier reported that Whitney's mother confirmed that her daughter died of electrocution.

Moyosore Onigbanjo, the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, also confirmed the result of the autopsy.

Onibajo announced that the report dated March 1, 2023, was issued by the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital.

“The post-mortem report revealed the cause of death to be Asphyxia and electrocution.

The Directorate of Public Prosecutions has been instructed to issue Legal Advice on the matter,” the Attorney-General said.

He further commiserated with the deceased's family, assuring the public that anyone found guilty would be charged to court immediately.
