The Lagos State Government has spoken following the order on the closure of Chrisland International School after the demise of one of its students.
Whitney Adeniran slumped and died during the school's recent inter-house sports competition and her father has demanded a probe into her demise.
Confirming the closure of the school, the State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed the development, adding that an investigation is ongoing.
“We are investigating the matter but as a first step, we are going to shut down the school (Chrisland) tomorrow (Monday) to allow for a full investigation.
“The Commissioner for Education, Mrs Folasadee Adefisayo, has spoken with the father of the child to sympathise with him and commiserate with the family”, he stated.
The management of Chrisland released a statement after news of Whitney's death trended on social media.
While saying they were heartbroken by her passing, they added that the late student had complained about her health recently and her father had been advised to follow up on it.
