Chronicles Of Events That Led To Disqualification Of BBNaija Housemates

Chronicles Of Events That Led To Disqualification Of BBNaija

In an environment where people of diverse cultures and religions are camped, dramas, romance, altercations among other things are expected and such is the case with the Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) house.

The Big brother’s house is one with laid down rules which all the housemates are to adhere strictly to, to avoid been disqualified after getting strikes and warnings. The rules though seem easy, might be difficult for some of the housemates to adhere to based on individual differences.

The difference in every personality is why breaking just a rule at once is not enough for a housemate to get disqualified. Breaking some come with strikes, while some may come with warnings. But, every third strike comes with disqualification from the show and this deprives the housemate of receiving every cash and material prizes won during his or her participation.

It does not end there as they will also exit the show through the backdoor and will not be allowed to grant interviews.

AllNews takes a brief look at a list of past housemates that were disqualified from the show since its inception.

Erica

Female housemate, Erica Nlewedim, on Sunday, September 6 became the first housemate to be disqualified in the 5th edition of BBNaija.

Her disqualification came after she was found guilty of disregarding the house rules and the entire BBNaija process despite receiving strikes and a final warning.

Her offences

1. Peeping through the camera window and trying to engage with the production team.

2. For threatening to kill Laycon and make him suffer as well as body shaming him.

3. She also took swipes at Prince and poured water on his side of the bed in the head of house lounge for not supporting her while blasting Laycon.

4. Erica also used the word ‘vote’ while discussing with her resident lover Kiddwaya, after Biggie warned them against using it.

Tacha

The rule book of the big brother’s house states in Article 18 sub-section 1 that, other types of violence including provocation, goading, bullying, and victimisation may be punished by Big Brother in any way Big Brother chooses.

Tacha who made it to the top 10 in the 2019 edition was disqualified after a fight with Mercy Eke who eventually won the “Pepper Dem” edition.

Tacha shoved and pushed Mercy while they had a heated argument, but it did not end there as she resulted to hair-pulling.

This, according to Biggie is violence and this led to the disqualification of the self-proclaimed Port-Harcourt first daughter.

Khloe and K-Brule

These were housemates in the 2018 edition dubbed “Double Wahala”. They were disqualified after getting a total of three strikes each. They were also the first pair to be punished for breaking the house rules in the ‘Double wahala edition’.

Khloe was issued a strike for verbally abusing her partner, while K-Brule was issued a strike for attempting to assault housemates.

It is however not clear who and how the housemate provoked, although, after the Saturday night party, Khloe insulted K-brule family.

Khloe had said ‘K-Brule’s mum is a whore and his dad a bastard.’

In 2019, Khloe took to her social media handle to call out the organisers of BBNaija saying “Dear BIG BROTHER NIGERIA for over a year now I kept asking myself what happened that day me and my sweet @k.brule was disqualified and I still can’t get a perfect answer but yah all claim it’s big brother rules BUT even in my season a lot more happened that’s 100 times worse than that night but nothing was done.

Kemen

A Portharcourt-based fitness entrepreneur, Ekemini Ekerette better known as Kemen was disqualified from the BBNaija Season 2 reality TV show tagged “See Gobe” in 2017. He was disqualified precisely on Sunday, March 5, 2017 for sexually touching female co-housemate Tboss without her consent while she was asleep.

However, Kemen, in a series of interviews claimed the event did not happen as was depicted on TV.
