Towards the end of the year, activities of the Boko Haram terrorist group saw a resurgence, with the killing of 11 Christians by an affiliate group, ISWAP, who had claimed that the killing was a response to the killing of its leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and the spokesman of the group Abul-Hasan Al-Muhajir who were killed in Syria in October of 2019.
Boko Haram is yet to claim responsibility for Andimi's killing.
