The Chief Medical Director of Dansadau General Hospital, Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State has been abducted by bandits.
The director identified as Dr Mansur Muhammad was abducted at Mashayar Zaki along Gusau-Dansadau road.
Confirming the incident, the chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association in Zamfara, Dr Mannir Nature said the association received the report with shock.
“We urge our members and the general public to include him and other captives in their prayers while the association work with relevant authorities to ensure his timely release in good health."
Zamfara State is one of the north-western states battling banditry.
The Gusau-Dansadau road is one of the roads travelers complain of over activities of bandits.
According to reports, many people have been abducted on the road in the past.
