Commander Charges Troops To End Boko Haram

The Commander of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), Major General GU Chibuisi, has charged troops to redouble their efforts to end the Boko Haram insurgency.

The commander charged them to ensure total eradication of the Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists hibernating in the Lake Chad Basin region.

Chibuisi made the charge when he was speaking at the closing ceremony of the Nautical training organized for the MNJTF troops in Djouguia N'Djamena.

He emphasized the importance of training in building troops' capacity for enhanced performance.

He also called on the troops to effectively utilize the skills they acquired during their training.

The commander further praised the troops for their positive and enthusiastic attitude towards the training.

He described the troops performance as a demonstration of their commitment to the fight against terrorist activities.

He highlighted that realistic and relevant training has equipped the troops with the necessary skills to confront the terrorists, resulting in a peaceful and secure environment.

This was contained in a statement on Saturday by, Kamarudeen Adegoke, spokesperson of MNJTF.

"This has in turn paved way for a peaceful and secured environment that has enabled internally displaced persons to return to their ancestral homes.

"It has also led to an improvement in socio - economic activities in the communities and encouraged many terrorists to surrender to troops," he added.

During the event, the troops were presented with certificates of completion of the training.
