Commissioner In Nassarawa State Kidnapped

Nassarawa Commissioner of Information, Culture and Tourism, Yakubu Muhammad Lawan

In what has become a daily occurrence in Northern Nigeria, a Commissioner of Information, Culture and Tourism, Nassarawa State, Yakubu Lawal has been kidnapped.

Lawal was reportedly kidnapped at his residence in Nasarawa Eggon by gunmen after sporadic shootings.

A family source confirmed the incident, noting that the gunmen who whisked him away were heavily armed.

Also in a statement issued on Tuesday by DSP Ramhan Nansel, Nasarawa state Police Command said on 15th August, 2022 at about 2045hrs, the attention of Policemen on routine patrol was drawn to the sound of sporadic gunshots in the Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area of the state.

“Upon arrival at the scene, it was discovered that unknown gunmen while shooting sporadically, invaded the residence of one Hon. Yakubu Lawal Addah, forcefully abducted him to an unknown destination.”

“The search and Rescue operation is ongoing by the combined team, led by Area Commander, Akwanga Area Command, ACP Halliru Aliyu to rescue the victim unhurt and arrest the perpetrators of the crime,” he added.

The statement relayed calls by the Commissioner of Police, CP Adesina Soyemi to provide any information that could lead to the arrest of the perpetrators through 08035951018, 08033806409, 08037461715 and 08036157659.
