Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma
Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma has taken the decision to suspend Noble Atulegwu, the Commissioner for Lands, Survey, and Physical Planning, alongside Mbakwe Obi, the Special Adviser and General Manager of Imo State Housing Corporation.
Governor Uzodinma's directive for their suspension is effective immediately.
The announcement of this action was conveyed in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Cosmos Iwu.
While no specific reason was provided for the suspension, Atulegwu had been embroiled in disputes with several communities in Owerri, the state capital.
Allegations were made against Atulegwu concerning the alleged encroachment upon lands belonging to families and communities, prompting some affected parties to pursue legal action.
This suspension coincides closely with Governor Uzodinma's recent reelection for a second term in office.
The statement reads: “The Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has approved the immediate suspension from the office of the Commissioner for Lands, Survey, and Physical Planning, Noble Atulegwu.
“His Excellency has similarly approved the immediate suspension from office of the SA/GM Imo Housing Corporation, Mbakwe Obi.”
