Construction Industry App To Help Reduce Building Collapse

Rapisurv App to Curb Collapsed Building Cases

Building collapse incidences in Nigeria have become somewhat accepted because they seem like hopeless and helpless cases.

In what seems like a straight-from-the-bullet proactive measure geared toward leveraging technology to reduce the frequent building collapses in the country, Isekit Limited has launched Rapisurv, a cloud-based software.

During a recent press briefing in Lagos, the CEO of Isekit, Tosin Abioye, explained, “Rapisurv is a one-stop, cloud-based, fully integrated end-to-end cost and contract administration solution for the construction industry.”

According to him, this simplifies the work of quantity surveyors, estimators, cost engineers and contract managers on both the client and contractor’s side, making them more productive without losing the industry standard methods of measurement and best practices.

He claimed that the cloud-based software creates an ERP-like environment where a construction project can be handled from take-off “through estimating, bidding, material requirements, contract award, variation management and valuation”.

“Having the consulting and contracting sides in the same system significantly reduces tendering and bid turnaround time.

“This solution helps through every stage of the construction contract administration and handles all processes and steps in the lifecycle of the project.”

Abioye noted that the solution would help the building industry save time and effort as well as the government “to create bills of quantities by 70 per cent. What used to take 10 hours to complete can now be done in just three hours”.

“Your estimate can now be done quicker and with less effort. It can save you 60 per cent of effort and time.

“Similarly, a two-week tender is now possible within one week. It similarly cut down tender review activity and decision support analysis by 50 per cent,” he further stated.

The Isekit CEO added that due to the firm’s iCloud network, the software solution could be accessed from anywhere in the world with two-factor authentication.

“More so, the software’s ability to keep a record of all communications relating to a project throughout its life cycle allows tags to help users filter for an important message,” he also averred.

According to him, the presence of such software creates a monopoly.

“People are forced to buy multiple software or if you think you cannot afford all, you buy the ones that are most relevant to your need and do the rest of the work, manually.

“There is a wide gap in integrated solutions that would run through the whole process.

“Not just in the pre-contract phase but after winning the contract.  You still need to manage things on the contract,” he adds.

He remarked that the tool would help with paperwork reduction and a quick collaborative connection to manage project issues.
