Controversial Nigerian musician Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy has described the large number of Nigerian delegates at the 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference as "madness".
The conference which is also the 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28) which is ongoing in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is the world's highest decision-making body on climate issues and one of the largest international meetings in the world.
The presence of 1411 delegates from Nigeria has sparked reactions among Nigerians who expressed their dissatisfaction with the unnecessarily large number.
In a video on X, Charly Boy openly expressed his displeasure at the development, stating that the large number of delegates portrayed Nigeria and not UAE as the conference's host.
Posting a video showing some delegates, the TV presenter wrote: “Look at the size of the entourage. You'll think Nigeria was hosting COP28 and not the UAE.
”After this kind of entrance only to solicit for loans later. This is not funny!!! This is simply madness!!!"
Also reacting to the development, Nigerian Afrobeat superstar tweeted: "So person wey just really go flex for Dubai now on him own no fit post shit funny AF …. I love it"
