Copa del Rey: Fati's Late Strike Seals Win For Barca Over Inter City In 7-Goal Thriller

Copa del Rey: Fati's Late Strike Seals Win For Barca Over In

Ansu Fati

Ansu Fati rose the fur on Wednesday night for Barcelona to seal qualification into the next round after Inter-City proved a hard nut to crack in a 4-3 thriller in the Copa del Rey.

Barca opened the scoring on the night, although playing without talisman Robert Lewandowski, through Ronald Araujo who powered a header into the net to make his return.

Ousmane Dembele then made a double, before Raphinha, and Fati rounded up the game for Barca to progress.

After the opening goal, Barcelona were wasteful in front of the goal as Dembele, Depay, Ferran Torres couldn't get a shot into the net.

Most of their efforts were wide, over the bar or saved by the keeper due to lack of concentration which would give Coach Xavi Hernandez worries ahead of their next game.

Inter City roared back into the game through former La Masia graduate Soldevila who drew level for his new side. Barca failed to clear the ball and fell kindly for him to slam into the net.

He scored all three goals for Inter City as he was constantly a threat to Barca in the final third.

Dembele eventually found the net after several trials, with a cheeky lob over the keeper.

Raphinha was clear at the far post to tap in a cut-back into the box then super-sub Fati dinked the ball into the net.

Barca will now turn to La Liga where they will be facing Atleti without Lewandowski and Jordi Alba.
