Coronavirus: Apple Updates IPhone Cleaning Guidelines

As coronavirus continues to spread, tech giant, Apple has updated its site on Monday with instructions on how to clean the Apple devices with the use of alcohol wipe.

“Using a 70 percent isopropyl alcohol wipe or Clorox Disinfecting Wipes, you may gently wipe the hard, nonporous surfaces of your Apple product, such as the display, keyboard, or other exterior surfaces,” the company said.

Over the years, Apple has condemned the use of powerful cleaning products by customers on its phones and computers, stating that it could damage the oil-repellent and water-repellent finishes it puts on them.

However, Apple still advises users not to clean its product with bleach or submerging products in cleaning agents.

The company also stated that disinfectants should not be used on fabric or leather products such as iPhone cases and the Home Pod speaker.

The coronavirus has affected over 100,000 patients around the world and has killed almost 3800 globally..
