Coronavirus: Chile Records First Death

The Chile health authorities have announced the first death of a patient from coronavirus in the country, and the patient was an 83-year-old woman.

The country's Minister if Health, Jaime Manalich disclosed this on Saturday, stating that in the last 24 hours, over 103 fresh cases were recorded, bringing the total number of recorded cases in Chile to 500.

The Latin American region has more infectious cases recorded in Brazil.

Chilean Government, in an effort to curb the spread, has advised its people to stay indoors.

The streets of the capital city of Santiago has seen less people, and pre-existing protests leading up to the outbreak of the virus have seen less attendees.

While some parts of the country are observing the precautions advised by the government, some have chosen to gather at sea resorts in the central part of the country, raising concern among government officials
