Coronavirus: China Lifts Lockdowns On Some Communities

Beijing authorities have tentatively lifted some of the lockdown imposed on the city to ensure that there aren't fresh outbreaks of the coronavirus, although, there have been three fresh cases recorded in Beijing on Wednesday.

Authorities closed off a number of houses in Beijing, as mass testing was conducted last month after hundreds of new cases were recorded in the city.

After the testing, five residential communities have been reportedly free from the virus, leading authorities to peel the lockdown directive over the communities.

The new cases have been linked to the Xinfadi makrket that supplies fresh meat and produce, which is also the major supply of Beijing residents.

New measures for the control of the spread of the disease are being looked into, as authorities are working to lift the lockdowns in other communities, according to a state media in China.

The communities whose lockdowns have been lifted will be tightly managed by authorities, restricting non-residents of the communities from entering, giving entry passes to residents.
