Coronavirus: Confirmed Cases Surge Past 900,000

The number of confirmed cases of the coronavirus disease globally sits at over 900,000, this is according to  a tally done by AFP, citing authorities tracking the spread.

The number of infections, as at the time of writing this report, stands at 905,589, with the death toll totalling 45,719 in 187 countries across the globe.

Country with the most confirmed cases of infection, the U.S., has a total of 203,608 confirmed cases of the disease, with the death toll standing at 4,476.

Italy follows closely with 110,574 confirmed cases, recording the highest number of deaths, with 13,155 deaths. Spain, coming in third with 102,136, and 9,053 deaths.
