All airline companies and agencies at airports in Nigeria have been directed to make mandatory the screening of all incoming passengers who move through the airports.
The order, according to the Ministry of Aviation, was sent out to both agencies and airline companies as a measure to contain the spread of coronavirus in the country.
Speaking with The Punch, the Public Affairs Director of FMA, James Odaudu, said that the Nigerian Government did not, at any time, put a hold on the screening of passengers at the airports.
He said that what the government is doing is "forcing it.”

The ministry also said, “All persons, without exception, entering any airport terminal (domestic and international) must undergo temperature check and hand cleaning with sanitisers.
“All passengers, no matter their status, must undergo temperature check and hand sanitisation before being allowed to board any aircraft. All airplanes must be disinfected before boarding by passengers.”
The NCAA has declared that any airline operator or agency running against the laid-down rules will face the penalty.
