Coronavirus: Ghana And Gabon Record Positive Cases

Over 8 countries have cases of the coronavirus in the Sub-Saharan region, with Gabon and Ghana adding to the list, bringing the number to 10.

Gabon recorded its first case before Ghana, making them the ninth and tenth respectively.

Other countries that have recorded positive cases of the virus in the Sub-Saharan region are: Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Democratic Republic of Congo, South Africa, Togo, and Cameroon.

According to the government of Gabon in a statement, it said that the virus was brought into the country by a 27-year-old Gabonese who had recently departed from France on the 8th of March.

The virus was introduced to Ghana by two people who had returned from Turkey and Norway.

The health ministry in the country said, “These are imported cases of COVID-19. Both patients are currently being kept in isolation and are stable.”
