Over 1.5 million coronavirus cases have been recorded globally, according to an official source as compiled by AFP at 0530 GMT on Thursday.
The total number of recorded deaths globally is 87,320 across 192 countries and territories ever since the outbreak of the disease in December of last year.
Sources of the collated data are from governments and the World Health Organization (WHO), and these numbers show only a small part of the actual figures, as only cases that require immediate attention are tested in many countries.
The US holds the records for the country with the most infection, recording a total of 432,132 cases and a death toll of 14,817.

In Spain, 146,690 cases have been recorded with a death toll of 14,555.
Italy follows closely with a total of 139,422 cases, with 17,669 deaths.
The continent worst hit by the disease is Europe, recording a cumulative total of 772,592 confirmed cases, with 61,118 deaths.
