Coronavirus: Gucci Cancels Fashion Cruise

 

The fashion influencer, Gucci, has called off its 2021 Cruise show scheduled for May 18 due to the outbreak of the infectious Coronavirus. 

According to a statement by Gucci's spokesman, the brand is also taking precautionary measures against the virus.

“A decision on the new timing and location of the show will be announced at a later date, once the situation becomes clearer. 

“At this time, our thoughts are with all of those affected around the world,” the statement said. 

However, the show is among several others that have been affected by the virus as Prada has also cancelled its proposed show for May 21 in Tokyo.

With Cruise season, it is not certain if more brands won't back out.

Although, Giorgio Armani is expected to kick off the event with its Cruise offering in Dubai on April 19 but judging by its fashin event canceled in Italy amid, it is not clear, what to expect.

Coronavirus which started in Wuhan, China is from the large family of viruses that cause illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases

So far, more than 98,000 people were known to be infected with Coronavirus and more than 3,000 deaths have been recorded.
