Swedish superstar, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, has donated €100,000 ($108,349) to help hospitals in the fight against the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Italy and called on his colleagues to join him in the campaign.
Allnews reports that Ibrahimovic, 38, is the latest player in Serie A to donate from his wealth to medical centres in the ongoing fight against the Coronavirus.
Italy currently has over 25,000 active cases of the disease, with the death toll now standing at over 2,500 people.
As of Wednesday, more than 208,000 cases of COVID-19 have been reported in at least 170 countries and territories, with major outbreaks in China, Iran and the European Union (EU).
The AC Milan striker took to his verified Twitter handle on Wednesday to announce that he has donated some money to the Humanitas hospitals in the Lombardy and Piedmont regions of Italy.
Furthermore, the former Ajax, Juventus, PSG and Manchester United frontman revealed a fundraising account for members of the public to give donations for the same cause.

Italy has become the core of the Coronavirus outbreak in Europe, with the entire nation in lockdown for well over a week now.
