In an effort to combat the spread of the COVID-19 infection in Nigeria, the Federal Government says that it will be converting NYSC orientation camps and stadia into isolation centres.
This development was disclosed by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Sunday Dare, on Twitter,
He said, “Mr. President has approved for the Ministry of Youth and Sports to open and make available the stadiums in Surulere Lagos, Ibadan, Abuja, and Kaduna, as well as our NYSC camps nationwide for use as isolation centers as they are needed. We are in touch with relevant authorities.”
There are 65 cases in the country, this is not counting the number of cases that are still unconfirmed.
NYSC orientation camps were shut down on 18th March, 2020, following a directive from the Federal Government, to control the spread of the virus across the country.
