Coronavirus: Spain Loses 394 People In 24 Hours

As infections cases from coronavirus surge globally, Spain, in an effort to contain the impact of the spread in the country has decided to distend its state of emergency for 15 more days, this is according to the country's Prime Minister, Pedro Sanchez.

This announcement was made during a public briefing on Sunday, after stepping out of a meeting with top health personnel. Pedro stated that he awaits the approval of the Spanish Parliament for the elongagtion of the state of emergency in the country.

Over the past 24 hours, over 394 people died from the infection, this is according to Spain's Ministry of health, this new number brings the total number of deaths to 1,720.

Spain's neighbor in the North, Great Britain, has urged its citizens to stay at home for the next 12 weeks to stem the spread of the virus.

UK's Communities Minister, Robert Jenrick, stated that assistance will be rendered to those who have been identified to have the disease, supporting them in their effort to keep their distance from others as much as possible.

He added that the assistance will include the provision of "food, so they don’t have to leave the house."
