Coronavirus: Spain's Death Toll Rises To 4, 858 In 24 Hours

 

In the past 24 hours, Spain has recorded 769 new deaths from coronavirus-related complications, raising the total figure to 4,858.

Allnews reports that Spain is the second most affected country in Europe after Italy in terms of COVID-19 confirmed cases.

Recall that Spain’s coronavirus death toll overtook that of China on Wednesday, rising to 3,434 after another 738 people died as Madrid announced a multi-million-euro deal with Beijing for critical supplies.

According to the country’s health minister on Friday, in its daily updates, more than 4,000 patients are in serious condition with an overall death toll of 4,858.

The capital city of Madrid and the surrounding region remains the worst-hit, with over 19,200 cases and 2,400 dead.

Meanwhile, 9,600 people have recovered from the illness.
