Coronavirus: Students Laud UDUS Management For Donating Hand

 

In her bid to contain the spread of COVID-19, the management of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS) has donated hand sanitizers to the Sokoto State government and journalists in Sokoto State as part of her contribution to curb the menace of the virus in Nigeria.

The students of UDUS have commended the contribution of the University management, they described it as a good initiative.

They however urged other Institutions to emulate the action taken by the management of the institution.

Recall that this institution had organized a symposium two months ago in order to enlighten the students and the lecturers on this deadly virus. The symposium that was tagged as “Emerging and Re-Emerging Viral Diseases: The Story of Lassa Fever and COVID-19."

While speaking with Ahmad Mati, a 200L student of Law expressed his gladness over the action taken by the management to curb this COVID-19, described it as a welcome development and good initiative.

“Sincerely speaking when I saw the news, I was overwhelmed and happy that at least my school was able to contribute in the war against COVID 19."  he felt elated.

He, however, advised the other institutions and other private sectors to contribute their take in curbing this deadly virus.

 “I think if other institutions can emulate what UDUS has done by sharing the burden and equally contributing their quota no matter how little, It will go a long way in the war against the COVID 19."

Onyilo Micah, a 200L student of Political Science also showed his gladness on this,  commended the effort of the school management, he also described it as a good initiative.

“It is indeed a very nice strategy to curb the pandemic of coronavirus disease. The sharing of hand sanitizer is good, this is because Sanitizers are quite expensive and people may not be able to afford it." he said.

He, however, stated that he would be very happy if other institutions can emulate the action taken by the management of Usmanu Danfodiyo University to curtail the spread of the virus. 

 “I will be happy if other institutions adopt this system too. This will in a way reduce the spread of that monster ravaging this country and the world at large called COVID-19. I must say that the way UDUS Management thinks is far different from the way other institutions of higher learning management thinks." he praised.

In an interview with Abdulkareem Suleiman, a 300L student of Law, was also impressed about this issue, he applauded them that they serve as a model for others to emulate.

“It is indeed a welcome and good initiative from UDUS management. I was really impressed when I saw the news. What makes me felt elated about it is the fact that none of the tertiary institutions in the country has come up with such a move and no information has been garnered to that effect. It makes me proud of our Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto."

He, however, stated that he would be happy if other Institutions can emulate Udus because it would help Nigerians to get themselves fortified against this deadly virus.

Mazeed Mukhtar, a 100-level student from Mell Department commended the University Management for not only complied with the NUC directive but also contribute their take to fight against this Coronavirus.

Ahmad Aliyu, a 300-Level student of Law also goes in line with the opinion of other students. He said that” This is a welcome idea in the sense that the immediate society will fill the impact of the varsity, I felt excited when I heard about it and this is something worth of emulation for others to adopt it."

Sherifdeen Sawe, a 100-Level student of Law also commended the effort of the school.

“It is indeed a welcome development and a palatable initiative from Udus management because this will further help the Sokoto State government to curb the menace of the deadly pandemic (COVID-19) and this also shows how committed the varsity is towards the fighting of this pernicious pandemic by donating hand sanitizers to the state government."

“I will be happier if other institutions could also play their part by helping the government in other to overcome this deadly virus."

Egbe Samuel Adah, a 100-Level student of Biological Science also pitched his tent with other students showed his satisfaction with the action of the management and stated that it would be good if other Institutions can emulate UDUS.

“What the management of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto did is highly commendable and other Universities in Nigeria must borrow a leave from the institution of learning. It is a welcome development and I urge the institution to keep it up," he said.
