Health officials in the Netherlands have confirmed the country's first death recorded from a coronavirus infection.
According to the National Institute for Public Health (RIVM), “An 86-year-old man with COVID-19 who was admitted to the Ikazia hospital in Rotterdam has died.
“This is the first patient in the Netherlands to die of the coronavirus,” stating that the source of the deceased's infection is still unclear.

Coronavirus, spreading fast across the globe, has now a number of close to 100,000 cases and of that number, over 3,400 of them have died.
The Netherlands' cases of residents infected have jumped from 82 to 128 just in two days.
The RIVM says, “The man was isolated as soon as it became clear that he had COVID-19.
“All those in contact with the patient who are suffering from a cold or have a fever have been asked to remain at home. If necessary, they will be tested."
