    The total number of people whose lives have been lost to the  infection has passed 10,000, this is according to a tally by news agency, AFP.

    The tally brings the total number of reported deaths to 10,080, with most cases arising from Europe with 4,932 cases, and Asia with 3,431 cases.

    In Europe, Italy leads the tally with 3,405 deaths recorded surpassing China, where the virus broke out from, recording 3,248 deaths from the outbreak. Iran follows China with 1,433 recorded deaths.
