Coronavirus: United States, Thailand Record First Deaths

 

The United States on Saturday recorded the first death from the coronavirus.

According to the Washington Department of Health, KIRO 7, the deceased, a man in his 50s with underlying health conditions, lived in King Count.

Officials in Washington state on Saturday said they were investigating a possible outbreak of the coronavirus at a local nursing home.

In a related development, Thailand also recorded its first coronavirus death when a 35-year-old male retail worker died on Saturday.

The patient had been hospitalised since Feb 16 at a private hospital and transferred to Bamrasnardura Infectious Diseases Institute.

Director-general of the Department of Disease Control, Suwannachai Wattanayingcharoenchai confirmed the death on Saturday.
