The Councillorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ward E, Ifako-Ijaiye, Honourable Adebo Samuel Kayode (ASK), has called for support for the party ahead of July 24 Local Government/Councillorship elections in the state.
AllNews Nigeria reports that Adebo alongside other party candidates officially received the party's flag from the APC party chairman in the Local Government (LG), Deacon Omole Banjo, on Thursday.
Speaking after, Adebo expressed confidence in the candidates while also drumming support for the party.
Adebo said: "Today is a great day for the individuals and party as well. You can see the spirit of oneness among the APC candidates. I commend the party for organising free, fair, and credible primaries within our LG, and I congratulate all flagbearers. I am confident that starting from our incoming Chairman, Hon Usman Akanbi Hamzat, to the councilors, they will not disappoint the people.
"They know what is at stake, and they will work for the people and repay the trust of everyone through positive and meaningful representation that will add value to the lives of the people."
He added: "I also want to use this opportunity to task our party members to start campaigning for the APC by speaking to their friends, neighbours, and everyone. We can't wait for the eve of the election to do that.
"The time is now, and I can assure you that with your support and prayers, APC will emerge victorious in Ifako-Ijaiye and other LGs within the state."
Honourable Adebo (ASK) also used the opportunity to remind people of the Continous Voters Registration (CVR) that will start on June 28. He urged people above the age of 18 to register to vote as their vote is their power.
