A Federal High Court sitting in Osogbo has ordered the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSIEC) to stop its preparation for the conduct of local government elections, AllNews Nigeria reports.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun had approached the court to stop the process.
The Osun PDP also alleged that it was needless for the Adegboyega Oyetola led-government to conduct the election now.
The OSIEC boss had announced on August 15, that the Commission would be conducting the local council poll on October 15.
A development that the Osun PDP locked against.
This is coming after the commission commenced training for its ad hoc staff for the October 15 local government elections.
