Court Reverses Suspension Of Ondo Lawmakers Who Refused to I

Ondo High court has reversed the suspension of the Ondo State Assembly deputy speaker, Ogundeji Iroju, and three other members of the state House of Assembly.

Overturning the suspension of the lawmakers, justice Ademola Bola ruled that the action of the House was illegal.

Ademola further directed that the lawmakers be reinstated with immediate effect.

It will be recalled that the state house of assembly suspended the lawmakers over alleged gross misconduct.

The lawmakers, who include the Deputy Speaker,  Favour Tomomowo; Wale Williams; and Tomide Akinribido were some of the lawmakers who opposed the impeachment process of the Deputy Governor of the state, Mr Agboola Ajayi after he resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in June.

It was gathered that their suspension was not unconnected with their refusal to sign the impeachment notice served to the deputy governor of the state Ajayi Agboola.
