Court Sacks APC Executives In Taraba Over Violation Of Election Guidelines

Court Sacks APC Executives In Taraba Over Violation Of Elect

The Executives of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba have been sacked following a court ruling in the state.

The presiding judge of the Federal High Court sitting in Jalingo, Taraba State, Justice Simon Amobeda ruled that the party's election conducted on October 24, 2021, was invalid.

Aggrieved members of the party had filed a case in the court saying the election was conducted out of the rules guiding the process as enshrined in the party's constitution.

The judge said the election was conducted in violation of the court order restricting the party in conducting the election.

Counsel to the defendant, Barrister John Odekena said upon consultations with his client, they would appeal the judgement at the court of appeal.

While expressing satisfaction with the judgement, counsel the plaintiff, Barrister Joy Ezekiel said the defendants had failed to give other party members 24 hours prior notice.
