A 28-year-old man, Akintunde Segun, has been sentenced to one-year imprisonment without an option of fine, by a Magistrates’ Court in Ota, Ogun state, for stealing a water tank that belongs to the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) on Monday, August 3.
AllNews gathered that he entered the premise of the High Court, Ota, where he stole ‘Geepee’ tank belonging to the NBA, valued at N50,000.
He was senteneced by Magistrate Sam Obaleye after he pleaded guilty to a one-count charge of theft.

The prosecution counsel, Titi Olatoye told the court that Segun committed the offence on July 30 at about 12:35am at the High Court, Ota, Ogun state.
According to Olatoye, the convict was arrested and taken to the Police station, Ota, by one police officer when he could not give a satisfactory answer as to where he was taking the tank to.
The prosecutor said the offence is contrary to the provisions os Section 390(9) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.
