COVID-19 : 305 Nigerians Arrive Abuja From Dubai

 

The Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri has announced the arrival of 305 Nigerians at the Nnamdi Azikiwe airport in Abuja from Dubai.

Dabiri who made the announcement via her Twitter page disclosed that the passengers arrived in Abuja with Emirate airline at exactly 3 pm.

"EVACUATION: EMIRATE AIRLINE FRM DUBAI ARRIVED. ABUJA ABOUT 1500HRS WITH AN ESTIMATED 305 PASSENGERS ON BOARD THE AIRCRAFT, "tweet by Dabiri read.

Dabiri had earlier announced that flight conveying 590 Nigerians had departed the United Kingdom for Nigeria. 

She wrote: ⁦"Flight from UK Chartered by ⁦ @flyairpeace has departed with 329 passengers to Lagos and 261 passengers to Abuja. Wishing them journey mercies."

The mass evacuation of Nigerians abroad had been made necessary by the increasing cases of COVID-19 pandemic across the globe.

While a lot of stranded Nigerians have been brought back home, NIDCOM, Air peace, and other stakeholders have been working to ensure that Nigerians stranded abroad are brought back home.
