Forty-seven medical personnel have tested positive for coronavirus in Kano State.
This was disclosed by the state's task force on COVID-19, Tijjani Hussain, during a media chat on Sunday.
Tijjani said that the health workers got infected a week prior, and that no other medical staff was infected within the last dew days.
He added that transmission between medical staff had reduced after the state took decisive actions.
Kano State has a total of 576 confirmed cases, with a recovery totaling 32, and a death toll of 21.

He said, “Out of the total number of confirmed cases in Kano State, we recorded 21 deaths.
“On Saturday; we also recorded 84 new suspected cases of the COVID-19, bringing the total number of the suspected cases to 1,820 in the state.
“Between Saturday and Sunday, 29 of the 84 samples collected were confirmed positive to the virus. So far we have collected 2,072 samples in the state.”
