Some Nigerians on the micro-blogging site, Twitter, are averse to the Lagos Government's speculated plan to announce another lockdown in the state following a poll on its official account.
Allnews reports that Lagos, by far, has the highest number of confirmed cases announced in Nigeria (1990).
As at the time of writing, Nigeria, Africa's most populous black nation, now has 4,787 total cases with 158 deaths - the second-highest figure recorded in Sub-Saharan Africa.
There is a complaint of poor social-distancing attitude.
Concerning the level of compliance with the government's directives on limiting the spread of COVID-19 in Lagos State, the state government is asking if it should impose another lockdown or not. The poll ends in two days time.
Considering the level of compliance with government's directives on limiting the spread of Covid-19 in a Lagos State, should the State Government impose another lockdown or not? @jidesanwoolu @JokeSanwoolu @drobafemihamzat @ProfAkinAbayomi @LSMOH @gboyegaakosile @Mr_JAGss

At present, a significant section of the Nigerian public is calling on the Babajide Sanwo-Olu-led government to desist from announcing a total lockdown as past lockdowns did not help slow the spread of the dreaded COVID-19 disease. Many lament that they did not receive the government's relief.

The most experienced way to kill a child is to starve a child for one week. Now calculate the number of children in the state and not even the adult oh. Will you say it is lockdown or you are trying to depopulate people with hunger.#NoLagosLockdown https://t.co/Jnn8VKqCaR

The last lockdown achieved NOTHING. Cases still increased. Added to that people had to arm themselves because there was a rise in insecurity. No palliative and people were very hungry. #NoLagoslockdown https://t.co/f5ODsR4vx6
