COVID-19: Another White House Staff Tests Positive

Another White House staff, identified as the spokeswoman for the vice president, Mike Pence, has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus, according to officials.

A senior member of the Trump administration had said that a member of Pence's staff had been tested and the results were said to have come back positive.

During his meeting with Republican senators, Trump had identified the staff as "Katie", going further to call her a "press person" who works for Pence.

Trump's identification of the lady had given confirmation to speculation in the media that the infected person in question is Katie Miller, wife of Stephen Miller one of Trump's advisors.

An official had said, “Out of abundance of caution we went back and looked into all the person’s contacts most recently.

“That’s why we asked some of our staff to deplane. Nobody else was exhibiting any symptoms or having any feeling of sickness. We asked them to go get tested and to go home out of an abundance of caution.”

Trump's spokesman had said that the president's valet and a member of the military who is in close contact with Trump had tested positive for the virus.

Both Trump and his vice, Pence, had carried out their daily test which came back negative.

White House Press Secretary, Kayleigh McEnany, had said, “I can just tell you that we’ve taken every single precaution to protect the president. We clean the facility, we social distance, we keep people six feet away from each other.”
