COVID-19: Cambodia Is Coronavirus Free, Last Patient Discharged

The Cambodian Government has said that it discharged its last coronavirus patient on Saturday, according to a report by Aljazeera.

The news agency quoted the Cambodian health ministry as saying that the last patient discharged is a 36-year-old woman from the northwestern part of the country, the Banteay Meanchey province.

Although, with this news, the government of the country has called on Cambodians to continue to observe safe hygienic practices, as the borders and schools will still remain closed, with quarantining still ongoing.

The southeast Asian country with a population of 16 million reported only 122 coronavirus cases, with no death. 

Health minister, Mam Bunheng, said “We think that most of the cases, generally, are imported, so we must be careful with all checkpoints at the border, at airports, at ports, at land checkpoints.

“People who travel from abroad must have a certificate confirming that they don’t have COVID-19. Only then would we allow them in, and once they are in, they will be quarantined for another 14 days.”
