The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) on Friday announced 433 new COVID-19 cases as death toll in the country approaches 1000.
According to statistics released by the disease control center for Friday, the confirmed COVID-19 cases in Nigeria currently stands at 45,687, with 32,637 patients discharged, and 936 deaths.
The figures indicates that 12,116 COVID-19 cases were still active.
Topping the list of states with the highest cases confirmed on Friday is Plaetue with 103 fresh COVID-19 cases, closely followed by Lagos with 70 cases and Abuja with 60 cases.
Other states with fresh COVID-19 cases includes Ondo-(35), Edo- (27) Rivers-(27) Kaduna-(20) Osun-(19) Borno-(18) Oyo-(18) Kwara-(11) Adamawa-(9) Nasarawa-(7) Gombe-(6) Bayelsa-(4) Imo-(4) Bauchi-(2) Ogun-(2) Kano-(1).
The 443 new cases comes as social and economic activities gradually returns to its normal form, as the Federal Government yesterday directed all level 12 workers to resume fully to work, and schools opened for exit classes.
Also it will be recalled that Lagos state government announced that churches and mosque can reopen from starting from the 7th of August 2020.
