Nigeria on Wednesday announced that the country’s death toll from the novel Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) rose to 200.
AllNews reports that official data from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) showed that eight more deaths were recorded.
Around 38, 231 people have been tested across the country and 1, 840 of the 6, 677 people who contracted the virus have recovered.
In Nigeria, where the coronavirus measures began to be alleviated, the Presidential Taskforce on COVID-19 (PTF) cautioned churches, mosques and businesses to prepare for a change in the way they have always operated.

Since the federal government eased the lockdown in key cities, there have been reports of Nigerians flouting safety guidelines put in place by the government to combat the spread of the dreaded virus.

The government had announced mandatory precautions including wearing of face masks in public and social distancing.
