COVID-19 Death Toll Rises In Nigeria As Total Confirmed Case

Coronavirus death toll increases in Nigeria after the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) reported that  total confirmed cases hit 8344. The NCDC announced that it recorded 276 new cases today, May 26, 2020, with death toll climbing 249.

The new cases increased to 276, surpassing the 229 recorded on May 25, 2020. Also, the previous day, Nigeria had a total of 233 COVID-19-related deaths, but the number increased by 16 in one day on May 26, making it one of the highest climb since the pandemic hit Africa's most populous country and largest economy.

In a break down of how the new cases of COVID-19 spread across states today, NCDC disclosed that fifteen states in Nigeria recorded new cases, with Lagos leading with 161. The closest, but yet far, is Rivers with 36 new cases.

Meanwhile, Edo recorded 27, Kaduna-19, Nasarawa-10, Oyo-6, Kano-4, Delta-3, Ebonyi-3, Gombe-2, Ogun-1, Ondo-1, Borno-1, Abia-1, Bauchi-1. This brings the total confirmed cases to 8344 cases of #COVID19 in Nigeria, while discharged persons hit 2385.
