Ghana President Nana Akufo-Addo announced the return of football to Ghana as part of the relaxing of restrictions with the fall of coronavirus cases in the country.
The restrictions remained on other sectors of the country including land, sea borders, beaches, bars, cinemas, and nightclubs at least for the time being.
The country over the pandemic period recorded around 46,000 cases of coronavirus and 297 deaths.

“Now more than ever, we must be even more disciplined in our adherence to the personal hygiene, mask-wearing, and social distancing measures that have become part of our daily routines,” the President warned.
The 'Go ahead' means that training can resume as well as the country's Premier League, Division One football by October 30th but would also include regular PCR tests among players and support staff. Just like it is done in European countries.
“No spectators will be allowed at the training centres, and, when actual competition resumes, seating at all stadia will be limited to twenty-five percent capacity to ensure social distancing,” President Nana said.
Wearing of face masks will also remain compulsory until sometime in mid-December, while a consideration of the resumption other sports would be discussed between the sports ministries and the Federal Government as the cases reduce in the year, he hinted.
