COVID-19: Ghana Records 31 Recoveries, Highest In Africa

Things are looking up for the West African country of Ghana, as it records the highest number of recoveries on the African continent, with 31 people recovering from the disease.

This news was announced by the country's Ministerof Health, Kwaku Agyemang, on Tuesday during a press briefing.

Ghana currently has a record of 161 infection cases, with a total of 5 deaths recorded.

The 31 patients discharged will be closely monitored in their homes, the minister says.

Agyemang says, “We have conducted some tests and 31 persons out of the total active cases have not shown symptoms.

“I keep on emphasising that the fatality rate in Ghana is very low so Ghanaians should not be scared. The five persons who have already lost their lives had underlying medical conditions.”

Currently, there are over 830,000 cases of coronavirus infection, with 176,000 recoveries and 41,000 deaths.
