COVID-19: Global Cases Surpass 3 Million

 

Official reports show that the number of confirmed coronavirus cases globally has climbed to more than three million, while of that figure, Europe and the United States account for almost 80 percent.

On Monday, 3,003,344 cases had been recorded, with a death toll of 209,388. Europe has a total of 1,393,779 confirmed cases, with a death toll of 126,233.

The US, closely behind Europe, the country that is the hardest-hit by the pandemic is said to have recorded, according to official figures from Monday, 980,008 confirmed cases, with 55,637 deaths.

These figures are still debated, as they only show a fraction of the true numbers, owing to the scarcity of test kits in some countries.
