COVID-19: How Lockdown Unlocked Hidden Talents Of Some Celeb

Although COVID-19 has brought so many harms than good, the lockdown directive issued has unleashed the hidden talents in some entertainers.

COVID-19 broke out in Nigeria on February 26 and cases have continued to rise since then, leading to issuance of lockdown to contain the disease.

Before and during the lockdown period, all social activities like music performances, movie productions and others were put on hold, giving people the opportunity for self-discoveries and avenues to develop themselves.

Many have continued to count their losses but then, it gave them opportunities to discover certain talents as they keep entertaining their fans in different forms.

Tik Tok, a Chinese video-sharing social networking service used for the creation of short dance, comedy and talent videos has brought out the acting skills in some of them.

Ubi Franklin

The Nigerian music artist manager and the founder of record label Made Men Music Group (Triple MG) suddenly embraced the job of a show host. It is safe to say that the lockdown has unveiled that aspect of him, as he takes time to speak with TV personalities on Instagram live sessions and giving them attentive ears just like a pro. Among those he has chatted with on his “Talks with Ubi Franklin” live sessions are singer Kcee, DJ Neptune, Dj Jimmyjat, Shina Peller, BBNaija’s Khafi, ID Cabasa, Korede Bello, among others.

Iyabo Ojo

No doubt that the Nollywood screen diva is talented. 'Mama Tik Tok", "Queen of Tik Tok" as Ojo is now being called by her fans, has her ways of keeping her followers glued to their phones while anticipating funny videos from her.

The energetic mother of one has sure gained more fans for herself in the social media community with the clips she dishes out to her fans every now and then.

Apart from playing the random roles of a girlfriend, wife, commercial sex worker, street girl, she has discovered more of her talents in the creative industry through Tik Tok.

Kolawole Ajeyemi

It is safe to now address him as an actor cum presenter as he joins other entertainers who have suddenly become show hosts since the lockdown directives took effect. He is now known for hosting a show on Instagram dubbed “Yoruba le de wa” where he gets to speak with some notable faces in the Yoruba movie industry. A show aimed at promoting the Yoruba culture. However, the one that caught the attention of many was the one where he interviewed his wife, Toyin Abraham. He had asked her whom she thinks loved her the most, surprisingly, the screen diva said her husband and her mum. Asked certain questions again, she said she didn’t want to disclose the answers to Ajeyemi because she does not know him fully well.

Don Jazzy

Legendary music producer and Mavin records boss, has also become the “king of Tik Tok” and with some of the videos we have come across, it is safe to say that Don Jazzy will also do excellently well as an actor.

Kunle Remi

Although he has been a popular face in the industry, Tik Tok has also unveiled the comic side of him, as he keeps dishing out funny clips to his followers. Remi is best known for his roles in “Falling”, “Family Forever” and “Tinsel”. He came into limelight after winning the 7th edition of Gulder Ultimate Search in 2010.

Femi Adebayo

Another “King of Tik Tok” while observing the lockdown directive never seized to entertain his fans with comic videos. Adebayo, also known as Jelili is a Nigerian lawyer, film actor, director and special adviser to the Governor of Kwara State on Arts, Culture and Tourism.

Meanwhile, Nigeria has a total of 7261 confirmed cases, with 2007 patients discharged and 221 deaths.
