The Southeast Asian country of Malaysia has recorded no new fatalities in 10 days, according to its Ministry of Health.
The country's total death toll is 115.
According to the Director-General of the Health Ministry, Noor Hisham, Malaysia recorded 38 new coronavirus cases, making the total number of cases in the state 7,857.
The new cases recorded in the country had a majority of imported cases, with the other cases spread among six foreign nationals and six locals.
Hisham explained, “The majority of the country’s new COVID-19 cases recently were contributed by imported cases and local transmission among foreign nationals involving foreign workers and several clusters identified in immigration detention facilities."

Adding that “The authorities are working to control further transmission among foreign workers while providing those tested positive with best treatment."
The total number of recoveries recorded in the country amounts to 6,404, with 51 new COVID-19 patients discharged from isolation centres.
