President Muhammadu Buhari has said that Nigeria's economy is too fragile to bear another round of lockdown caused by COVID-19.

Citing cases of other countries that are currently encountering the second wave of the virus, Buhari said:

"Looking at the trends in the other countries, we must do all we can to avert a second wave of COVID-19 in Nigeria. We must make sure that our cases, which have gone down, do not rise again. Our economy is too fragile to bear another round of lockdown."

It will be recalled that all activities in Nigeria were shut down in March as a result of the widespread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

With the cases of COVID-19 in Nigerian being reduced drastically, experts have however predicted that the #ENDSARS protest that held across different locations in the country might result in another widespread of the deadly COVID-19 virus.
