COVID-19: No Test Results Required For Returning Students -

The Federal Government on Monday said no COVID-19 test results are required for returning students to be admitted into their schools, AllNews reports.

The FG gave this directive in a short statement issued by the Director, Press and Public Relations, Federal Ministry of Education, Ben Goong.

The statement, therefore, warned school authorities to refrain from asking students or parents to undergo COVID-19 test before they are accepted in their schools.

“No Covid-19 Test Required for Resumption of Students. The Federal Ministry of Education says no Covid-19 Test is required for returning students to be admitted into their schools.

“Only temperature checks should be carried out on students and any other person crossing any school gate.

“School authorities should therefore refrain from asking students or parents to undergo COVID-19 test before they are accepted in their schools.”

Meanwhile, AllNews had reported that the Federal Government had ordered schools across the country to resumed despite the upsurge of the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic across the globe.

Also, the FG also directed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camps to be opened nationwide for the new intake of corps members from Tuesday.

Following the directives, many medical experts had faulted the FG move, says the country is not safe to open schools and NYSC camps across the country.

Even the Economic Sustainability Committee lead by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo had also warned the FG on reopening of NYSC Camps amidst the high deaths rate recorded recently.
